    Job Overview

    OPEN TO U.P. DILIMAN STUDENTS ONLY.

    Support the development and delivery of Japanese-language education for Filipino learners. You will work with instructors and curriculum developers to make lessons accurate, understandable, and useful for learners.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare lesson plans, slides, exercises, quizzes, and answer keys.
    • Teach or co-facilitate online Japanese-language lessons.
    • Explain beginner-level Japanese clearly to Filipino learners.
    • Review teaching materials for accuracy and learner appropriateness.
    • Organize learner questions and common learning difficulties.
    • Assist with monitoring learner participation and progress.
    • Recommend improvements to lessons, materials, and learning activities.
    • Attend scheduled curriculum and teaching meetings.

    Qualifications

    • Japanese Studies, Linguistics, Education, Language Education, or a related field
    • Japanese-language coursework or demonstrated Japanese proficiency
    • JLPT certification, if available
    • Study-abroad or exchange experience in Japan
    • Teaching, tutoring, facilitation, or curriculum-development experience
    • Strong English communication skills

    Working Conditions

    • Employment type: Paid part-time
    • Expected working hours: Approximately 10 to 15 hours per week
    • Compensation: PHP 100 per hour
    • Work arrangement: Mainly remote
    • Equipment: Company laptop provided
    • On-site requirement: Approximately once per week
    • Office location: Caswynn Building, Timog Avenue, Quezon City
    • Start date: As soon as possible
    • Outside scheduled meetings and class times, working hours can be arranged flexibly as long as agreed deadlines are met and necessary communication is handled appropriately.

    Eligibility

    Applicants must meet the following conditions:

    • Currently enrolled at UP Diliman
    • Preferably have approximately one to two years remaining before graduation
    • Able to work approximately 10 to 15 hours per week
    • Able to attend scheduled online meetings
    • Able to attend on-site work approximately once per week
    • Have a stable internet connection for remote work
    • Able to communicate clearly in English
    • Responsible and able to meet deadlines
    • Able to complete a short work sample test

    Relevant majors are listed for each role, but they are not mandatory requirements. We will place more weight on the results of the work sample test than on major or past titles alone.
